.50cs Update

LAN Update:

50 Calibre Gaming's Counter-Strike 1.6 division will be in attendance at today's Apex Digital LAN Event in Richmond, VA. With notice of GameStation's Upstate NY LAN event being cancelled, several teams, including 50 Calibre, were quick to realize that there was another LAN event being held on the same day.

50 Calibre
decided to make the five and a half hour overnight trek to Virigina for several reasons: More LAN experience as a team, a great chance to prove their capability at a local LAN medium, and an oppertunity to build chemistry for future LAN events such as x3o's Dust-Off Championship Series Qualifier #2, which 50 Calibre will be attending.

With play beginning at 9am, this tournament, although smaller in size than several of the most recent events of the East Coast, sees to be an exciting event with upsets, excitment, and of course, LAN drama.

.50cs's roster for Apex Digital is as follows:

Luis "Frako" Cabral
Christopher "ekkL" Mejia
Kyle "Hurr1canE" Libby
Nicolas "nickf" Febbraro
Jasper "sfX-_0`" Ko

Online Update:

With both CALinvite and CEVOmain regular seasons at an end, .50cs had a qualifying record to make both playoff brackets.

With a strong ending to the regular season, 50 Calibre is going into the CALinvite playoffs with a three game winning streak. This series of wins provided a sufficient record to grab the #2 seed in the CALinvite playoffs. 50 Calibre's first round matchup has yet to be announced, as the playoff bracket is expected to be released in the next few days.

In CEVOmain, .50cs saw an opponent in Green Berets in the first round of Upper Bracket play. Considered an underdog in the matchup, the team overcame the odds and sent Green Berets to the Lower Bracket.

50 Calibre did not see the same success in their second round matchup, facing EG.ca. .50cs was forced to play one man down for over two thirds of the match as Nick "nickf" Febbraro experienced internet issues and was unable to reestablish a connection to the internet. With the odds not in their favor, the team still played a remarkable match seeing defeat by the score of 16-11. The team was able to sway the momentum back from the hands of EG.ca at several points throughout the match but was just unable to overcome the odds of the one man difficiency.

50 Calibre sees an opponent in Interplay.zoi in the second round of Lower Bracket play, with the match currently listed as TBA.
